Apricity . the fleeting sun in winter

Apricity . the fleeting sun in winter

“This abstract painting explores the mood of apricity — the fleeting warmth of the sun in winter — through a dialogue of straight lines, circles, and crossings. Soft layers of white, light blue, and pink create a subtle luminosity, while sand adds a tactile presence that grounds the work in material reality. Within this interplay of geometry and texture, the theme of female emergence unfolds: resilience rising through fragility, presence emerging from silence, and inner warmth breaking into light.”

It’s a long process of adding and blinding colours. working in lots of colour and texture layers . experimenting with sand in combination with acrylics . mixing hues | fading out | layering | lights and shades | it’s a process .

This painting symbolises for me the late winter days with it’s slightly warm and bright lights. So I haven chosen warm bright pastel colours combined with the warm, natural tone and texture of fine sand. The light blues and rose hues of the morning skies when the sun is fighting against the last snow carrying clouds. Foggy morning hours clearing up into bright sunny days. It’s also changing depending on the natural light conditions during a day. On a sunny day the colours and textures and shadows created by the light are composing a different painting as on a cloudy dark day.

You will be surprised to have a variety of paintings in one frame on your wall. It should spread it’s positive vibes in every space it will be placed. I wish the viewer to dive into their own feelings and emotional inner self while enjoying the painting.
